Hello Everyone,

At this time I do not feel comfortable having Don set up a web page for =
my daughter Lisa so I had sent him a couple of scanned pictures and =
asked his permission to send them to the listserv.  He OK'd it. (Thanks =
Don)  Take note.  The picture on the left is the picture right before =
her cranialfacial surgery(1997) and the one on the right is 1 year =
later. (1998)  Most of you got the picture on the right from me for the =
picture exchange.

I think these are very good comparison pictures of her. (Before and =
After)  Alot of the syndrome look is gone.  We can still see some but =
not like before her cranialfacial surgery.   By sending these through =
the listserv Aperts families in other countries can see the difference =
also and I hope this helps the newer families with young ones.   Lisa's =
surgery was done by Doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Hope =
you all enjoy these.

>Niagara falls sounds nice but what else is there to do?

Judy, since you posed the question, allow me to answer.  The short answer is
"plenty".  The long answer follows.

Niagara Falls, Ontario and Niagara Falls, New York are within a stones throw
(if you have a good arm).  They are connected by three international bridges
(Rainbow, Whirlpool, and Lewiston/Queenstown).  Niagara Falls (both) is
situated on a major river (the Niagara) joining two of the great lakes (Erie
and Ontario).  The area is served by the Buffalo/Niagara International
Airport.  It's not a "resort town", but Niagara Falls is a major tourist
attraction in the US and Canada.  Other than standing and looking at the
Falls itself, everything below is within one hour of Niagara Falls.  I'm
sure I missed plenty, but here's a list.

Niagara Falls Area:
Maid of the Mist Boat tours  - See the falls up close and personal from the
rapids below.
Cave of the Winds - Venture down wooden walkways to the Bridal Veil Falls.
Whirlpool Jetboats - Fast paced tour of the Niagara River rapids.
Helicopter Tours - If you want to spend some bucks you can see the Falls
from the sky.
Devil's Hole - Nasty part of the whirlpool in the lower Niagara river.
Casino Niagara - Watch your money go away fast!  :-)
The Aquarium of Niagara Falls - Fish, mammals, etc.
Marineland and Gamefarm - Killer Whales, deer, bears, rides, shows and
attractions.
African Lion Safari - A little bit of Africa in Ontario.
Artpark - 200 acre park dedicated to visual and performing arts.
Niagara Power Project - See how the power of the mighty Niagara is harnessed
to create electricity.
Old Fort Niagara - Pre-revolutionary war (1726) US fort featuring tours and
Civil War Reenactments.
Butterfly Conservency - Tons of butterflies indoors, yearround.
The Skylon Tower - See the falls from way up in the air.  Fine dining and
other stuff.
The Minolta Tower - Same sortof stuff.
Clifton Hill - Shops, Wax Museums, attractions, etc. in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Niagara-on-the-Lake - A beautiful picturesque village filled with neat shops
and restaurants.
Festival of Lights - More Christmas lights than you'd ever need to see light
up Niagara Falls from November to January with concerts and other attractions.
Thunder Over Niagara - Annual two day Air Show at Niagara Falls Air Base.
This years' feature is the USAF Thunderbirds.  Includes B-1B Lancer, F117
Nighthawk (Stealth Fighter), B2 Spirit (Stealth Bomber), F16 Eagle, A-10
Thunderbolt and many other aircraft.

Buffalo Area:
Buffalo is situatued on Lake Erie and the upper Niagara River and features
some of the finest architecture by Henry Hobson Richardson, Louis Sullivan
and Frank Lloyd Wright.  In addition there is...
NHL Hockey - Sabres (Don't get me started!).
NFL Football - Bills.
MILL Lacrosse - Bandits.
AAA Baseball - Bisons.
NPSL Soccer - Blizzard.
Arena Football - Destroyers (couldn't win if their life depended on it).
Buffalo Naval and Servicemen's - Naval ships, submarine and aircraft.
Buffalo Museum of Science - Educational stuff.
Buffalo Zoo - Animals.
Albright-Knox Art gallery - Currently featuring Monet at Giverny.
Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens - Beautiful flowers even in winter.
Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society - A national historic landmark
built as the NY state building for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition.
Miss Buffalo and Niagara Clipper Boat Cruises - Lunch, Dinner and Evening
cruises on the Niagara River.
Our Lady of Victory Basilica and National Shrine - Major League Church!
Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historical Site - Where Teddy was
inaugurated after President McKinley was assasinated.  Fittingly the site of
the Teddy Bear picnic each August.
Tifft Nature Preserve - 264 acre nature preserve.
Martin's Fantasy Island - Rides, shows and attractions.  Located on Grand
Island, one of the largest freshwater islands in the US.
Beaver Island State Park - Picnic area, beaches, etc.  (no beaver though)
Darien Lake Theme Park - Bigger Rides, shows and attractions and a water park.
Darien Lake State Park - 1,846 Acre Park with 12 acre lake and 19 miles of
trails.
The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra - Music.
Buffalo Raceway - Harness racing.
Letchworth State Park - Known as the Grand Canyon of the East.  14,000 acre
park on the Genesee River (Amazing colors in the fall).
Erie County Fair and Expo - rides, shows and attractions (August).
Allentown Art Festival - 400,000 people attended this years two-day outdoor
arts and crafts festival in one of Buffalo's preservation districts (June).
Taste of Buffalo - Food, food and more food!
Shea's Performing Arts Center - Newly renovated to enlarge the theatre, this
years features are Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Riverdance and Beauty and the
Beast (it ain't Broadway, but it'll do).

Skiing, Hunting, Camping, Boating, Fishing, Shopping and Food up the wazoo!

of Nick sitting on the couch and a family photo of us taken at the =
beach, just let know know,  I got so carried away separating family =
photos that I may have forgotton the exchange pics in one.
which brings me to why I am writing this letter.

Jenny Brown,  I need your address so i can send you a few vacation pics, =
you are n ot on the  photo exchange so i don't have your address.

I will be sending out the first batch tomorrow and the rest thoughout =
the week.
Hope to get some more pics from the rest of you soon too.  there are 56 =
names on the list and I have only received about 12.

Sorry I missed chat Sunday night, we went to see Bill's daughter.  I am =
