Cordell's Page

Hi my name is Cordell Ryder Meadows. I'm told quite often that my name is unique, but its that way for a reason. My mom and dad love to predict weather and I was actually named for a tornado that occurred in May of 1982. There's significance behind this as well. Anyway to make a long story short I was born on May 23, 2008 and on this day there were over 80 tornado's. Coincidently extreme weather follows me! At the age of one week I had my first surgery at Cincinnati Children's. This was what doctors refer to as a partial taurosorrophy. I needed my right eye sewn shut to prevent to much exposure and to prevent my eye from popping out of socket. Not fun but I endured like a trooper. My next surgery was a big one. I needed to have bone removed from skull to allow room for my brain to grow. The surgery went very well and lasted about 4 hours. Needless to say my stay in the hospital lasted 3 weeks :( Due to breathing complications after surgery I received my trach. During this surgery Hurricane Ike hit Cincinnati. Oh what weather fun ! Since then I have been learning new things and trying to grow stronger everyday. My next surgery is scheduled for Jan 15th. This will be my forehead advancement to give my eyes the protection they need. Well that's my story so far hope everyone has enjoyed, with love Cordell
