Ashlee's Page

Hi there! My name is Ashlee Abramson and I was on born on November 17, 1983. I am currently 21 years old (22 in just 8 days) and I live in New Westminster, BC, Canada. I am the youngest of three and have one older sister named Alana and an older brother named Joel.

Having Apert Syndrome has never been a negative aspect in my life. Throughout all the surgeries, doctors appointments, trips to Toronto (where I had most of my major surgeries), the bullies, the stares, the glares, the questions, it has made and molded me into the person I am today. My parents never gave me any special treatment or raised me differently than my brother and sisters – I got grounded, had to do chores, had a curfew, etc. Therefore, being raised “normal”, allowed me to do normal things – such as, graduate from high school, volunteer, play piano, obtain a valid driver’s license, get a job, and even date.

To date, I am living with my boyfriend of 2 and half years, Tom, in our cozy New West apartment with our two cats, Jacob who is a year and half, and Noah who is 8 months. I work full-time for my parents who own a Loss Prevention company as their Administrative Assistant (mainly so they keep an eye on me since I’m no longer living at home) and I also a Big Sister for the Big Sisters of BC Lower Mainland. In my spare time I like to go shopping (yes, I have a shopping problem ), go to the movies, go for coffee with my friends, listen to music, and of course, hang out with my family or just cuddle on the couch with Tom and “the boys”.

If you ever need anyone to talk to or have any questions about what it was like for me growing up, please feel free to e-mail me or send me a letter to the below address. I am a very open person and will answer any and ever question that you may have.

To end this long blurb of thought, I thought I would end it with one of my favorite quotes, this quote has gotten me through a lot of roadblocks throughout my life and I would love to share it with all of you:

"The things you're most afraid of are usually the most worth whiled."
-Anon.

Have a great day,
Ashlee
